The H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum has reopened. For many years, the museum has committed itself to charity work, and supporting the surrounding community. But people who are not familiar with the museum or the area may not know about all the beautiful things this museum has to offer. Its reopening is truly important for the area, and great for art circles as well as those who want to experience all the amazing works the museum has to offer.

Located in a historic, more than 114-year-old building in Los Angeles County, the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is full of cultural atmosphere and masterpiece of art. The original opening of the museum was in 2014, when a large crowd attended the Grand Opening ceremonies. Not only were the crowds big, but there were dignitaries and important figures who came for the occasion, and understood the solemness and value of the museum itself. U.S. Air Force bombers flew over in formation and left colorful cloud trails behind.

From its opening day onward, the museum has offered a vast, rich collection of calligraphy, ink-wash paintings, sculptures, oil paintings, and other artistic treasures. All the works at the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum were created by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III himself, and there is a large quantity of art that has been collected for display.

But like so many venues during the pandemic, the museum had been forced to close. Now, though, H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is open again, and travelers far and wide can come to explore everything it has to offer. The museum has rich collections of great artwork, including oil paintings, Chinese paintings, color-painted tiles, calligraphy and Yun Sculptures. The Yun Sculptures are something to behold, and these sculptures follow a type that is both unprecedented and unique.

Many past visitors have said the Yun Sculptures are the greatest artworks that they have ever seen. These sculptures are a new art form, which H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III created for humanity. They are unique, in that they have fine, complex details in their carving, expressing a sense of multidimensionality not found in other artwork. These exquisite pieces offer endless variation and rich, gorgeous colors that are unsurpassed in the art world.
There are currently seven of Yun sculptures on exhibit in the museum, and those who have seen them describe them as having a beauty that “captures people’s souls.” These works of art are truly indescribable, and must be seen to be fully understood. Their value and grace are beyond the works of other artists, none of whom have ever replicated such expressive elegance.

The museum was originally established to showcase the works of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III, who has no official link to the museum. The moral characters and ethics of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III are deeply admired by many people around the world. A group of people in Los Angeles County chose to secure the funds and create a museum in his honor, to display his artwork. Since that time, the museum has been on a mission to promote his noble moral characters and accomplishments, and to help more people understand his work and benefit the society.

Now that the museum is back open, more people who live in or visit Los Angeles County can come to the museum and see all that it has to offer for them. Not only does the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum display artwork, but it also participates in charitable giving in the Los Angeles community and beyond. It has been active in helping with disaster relief, alleviating poverty, and helping those who are elderly, ill, and infirm. Visitors to the museum will be surrounded by beauty and compassion.

The museum will also offer art scholarships to high school students beginning next year, to encourage them to continue creating and developing art, and expressing themselves through color and design. While the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum displays only the works of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III himself, the museum also recognizes the value and diversity that exist in the work of other artists, and in other forms of art. Because of that, it wants to encourage the community to create and showcase all types of art.

There are many reasons to visit the H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum. Now that it is once again open to the public, and in a time of uncertainty and difficulty, visiting a peaceful, artistic location may help ease worry and fear. When there are difficult times, compassion and love matter. Additionally, art matters. It is one of the few things that can bring people together, calm the mind, and uplift the spirit when times are dark.

The H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is pleased to be back open, and able to offer more help and hope to the community once again. There are few words to really express the depth of value that the museum brings to the Los Angeles County area, but visitors will feel it when they arrive. Art can bring courage, joy, and peace to people, and help them face the challenges they may be experiencing in their lives.

The H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III Cultural and Art Museum is open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, from 10am to 5pm, and the Treasure Room is open every Saturday from 10am to 1pm. General admission is free to the public.
